With heavy hearts, we announce that after four wonderful years, our Ennistymon shop will close at the end of September 2025.
After careful consideration, we’ve decided to close our physical shop by the end of September due to rising operating costs, the 23% VAT rate, increasing raw material costs, and a significant decline in tourist footfall. The local support in Ennistymon has been amazing, and we are so grateful, but without the consistency of tourist footfall, it is no longer viable for us to maintain the shop, a challenge reflective of Ennistymon’s broader retail climate.
Founded in 2012, we wanted to create a soap that was gentle and effective for our son’s eczema. Having success with our Pure Chamomile Soap, our first product, we were soon hooked and launched Airmid Natural Handmade Skincare, committed to crafting high-quality, sustainable skincare using locally sourced, natural ingredients. Having had great success with eczema sufferers and sensitive skin issues, we are proud to now collaborate with local Clare woman, Alicja Stachurska, known on Instagram as @malinka_eczema
Alicja is a passionate skincare advocate who openly shares her eczema journey, product trials Including Airmid, and wellness tips to support and inspire others facing similar skin challenges. As proud members of Design Ireland and the Design & Crafts Council of Ireland, we’re excited for the future as we return to our online roots, expand corporate gifting, and continue supplying retailers. We invite everyone to visit https:www.airmidsoap.com to explore our handmade products and support our journey. Subscribe to see where we will be popping up for Christmas and in 2026.
This transition prioritises our family’s quality of life, as the shop’s long hours left little room for family time, leaving us in a quiet, pressured period. Moving forward, we look forward to spending time in our garden, enjoying simple pleasures, and catching up with friends and family. Tina, runs a freelance graphic design business (www.tinarobinson.ie), balancing creativity and family, while I, as an organic horticulturist, am passionate about Korean Natural Farming (KNF), a sustainable agricultural method emphasising self-sufficiency and natural inputs to create healthy soil and plants. I’m currently working with a local farmer to explore KNF, aligning with our sustainable values.
We’re deeply grateful to our community in north Clare, and thank them all, for their incredible support over the years.
THANK YOU
Kevin Lynch & Tina Robinson
